A. A leading bottled water supplier has recalled its bottled water products after one of its spring sources was found with E. coli contamination, affecting Niagara and 13 other bottled water brands. The warning was issued by Pennsylvania Departments of Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Health in June 2015.

According to Food Safety News, Niagara Bottling posted a notice that stated that:

“E Coli are bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with human and animal wastes. Microbes in these wastes can cause diarrhea, cramps, vomiting, nausea, headaches and other symptoms. They may pose special health risks for infants, young children, some of the elderly and people with severely compromised immune systems.”
Only bottled water with the Best Buy Date code starting “F” or “A” for June 2015 were affected.
